Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Phillip Mickey Andrew “Andy” Himes, of Hood River, Oregon, passed away on Oct. 14, 2025, at the age of 37.
Phillip was born on Jan. 31, 1988, in Fort Lewis, Washington. Phillip was the beloved son of Juliette Isabelle Dorzab (Sherrell) and Phillip Wayne Himes. He spent his formative years in Hood River, where he attended Hood River Valley High School and built lasting connections in the community.
Phillip’s childhood was filled with adventure and the bond of family. He grew up alongside his siblings, Scarlett Murphy and Christopher Dorzab. After high school, Phillip lived both in Portland and Hood River, but always carried the spirit of his hometown with him. He built a life through hard work and determination as a self-employed contractor — a trade that allowed him to channel his creativity, work with his hands, and support his family with pride.
Above all, Phillip was a devoted father. He leaves behind children Adrian, Phillip, and Simon Himes; his parents, Juliette and Phillip; his siblings, Scarlett and Christopher; and his grandfather, Mick Sherrell. Phillip was predeceased by his grandmother, Jewel Sherrell, in 2017 — a loss that touched him deeply.
