Scott’s finish leads The Dalles at Sandy

THE DALLES — Harley Scott finished second to lead The Dalles High School wrestling team at the Jan. 10 Paul Larson Invitational at Sandy High School.

Scott, a 2025 4A state tournament competitor, won four matches at 144 pounds, before losing to Marshall Gobet of Molalla in the championship. Scott’s teammate Aiden Flores was sixth at 144 pounds and Danner Varland was sixth at 106.

Flores lost his first-round match, then reeled off four straight wins before losing to returning state meet wrestler Cody Rinard of 6A Sandy.

The Dalles was 16th out of 19th scoring teams.
