Mt. Hood snowboard team off to USASA Nationals

The Mt. Hood snowboard team is a competition team that competes in the USA Snowboard and Freeski Association’s Mt. Hood Series as well as other competitions.

The Mt. Hood snowboard team is a competition team that competes in the USA Snowboard and Freeski Association’s Mt. Hood Series as well as other competitions. They are sponsored by School Aid, which donated 3,500 pounds of organic pears for the team to sell last fall at Rosauers to fund the teams’ travels. All five members of the Mt. Hood snowboard team will be heading off to Copper Mountain in Colorado for Nationals April 1.

The boys will be competing in Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Boardercross and Rail Jam. The five-man team spans three different age groups for competing: Parker Arneson (Grommet, age 9 and under); Max Jones and Paul Logan (Menehune, ages 10 and 11); and Abe Brunka and Julian Monfoster (Breaker Boys, ages 12 and 13).
