Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
April Evon Green passed away at home surrounded by her family and loved ones on Feb. 22, 2026, in Hood River, Oregon. April was born Jan. 21,1976, to Lawrence and Nanette (Hopper) Ayers in Hood River. Soon after, her brother Matthew joined their family.
Growing up in the Hood River Valley, April attended elementary school at Mount Hood Christian School, then went on to Wy’east Middle and Hood River Valley High, where she made friends at every step of the journey. During these years, Tim, Jack, Jason and Jodi welcomed April and Matthew into their family. Their home on Cooper Spur Road was a hub of activity, with friends and family always welcome. They rode horses, went skiing, hunting, fishing, and participated in high school rodeo, as well as many other activities together. April participated in 4-H, cross country and choir prior to graduating in 1994.
April met Lynn Miller in 1993, and they were married in July 1997. In late 1998, they were blessed with a son, Tyson Douglas Miller, and in 2000, daughter Grace Elizabeth Miller completed their family. April loved time with her children and thus took a job at Hood River County School District, which allowed her to work at Mid Valley Elementary with the people she loved. April later became a barista at Starbucks and made so many friends and community connections. In 2020, April met Dwight Moe and found the love she had been seeking. April found joy in her job at the senior center, serving folks through Meals on Wheels.
April LOVED to walk and hike! If you have ever spent time driving around Odell, you likely have seen April out for a walk. April’s favorite hike was her annual Mother’s Day trip to Tamanawas Falls in the Mt. Hood National forest with her children by her side. As we all know, the Hallmark Channel will see a significant decrease in viewership. April’s side gig was housesitting and every home had a new love with four legs and fur. She loved a good pancake! She kept friendships even when separated by time and distance. April was a supportive and optimistic friend, always kind, always grateful, she is and always will be our sunflower!
April is survived by her partner Dwight Moe of Hood River; son and daughter Tyson and Grace Miller, both of Hood River; parents Tim Green (Debbie) of Hood River, Lawrence Ayers (Vicki) of Lake Hughes, California, and Nanette Phelps (Glenn) of Goldendale, Washington; siblings Matthew Green (Desirae) of Salem, Oregon, Jack Green (Rachel) of Molalla, Oregon, Jason Green of Molalla, and Jodi Findley (Todd) of Beavercreek, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews and close friends who will all deeply miss her radiant spirit.
April was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marjorie Hopper of Hood River, and Jack and Guyneth Green of Parkdale, Oregon.
Please join us on Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the Hood River Assembly of Life Church, 979 Tucker Road, with Pastor Terry Abbott to officiate. A graveside service will follow at Idlewilde Cemetery. Following her committal service, a reception will be held at Hood River County Faigrounds. April requests that you wear a hoodie or the color purple in her honor.
Public viewing will be held at Anderson’s Tribute Center on Friday, March 6 from 5-7 p.m. Please forward all donations to Hood River Meals on Wheels, which fed April’s passion for serving her community.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson’s Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.AndersonsTributeCenter.com.
