THE DALLES — Aiden Flores, Harley Scott, and Kaedyn Linker competed at the 2026 OSAA Class 4A boys state wrestling tournament this past weekend.
The Riverhawks finished with nine points and placed 26th in the Feb. 26-28 tournament at Portland’s Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Sweet Home won the team championship with 283 points.
Senior Harley Scott won two of his four matches at state. He pinned 2025 state tourney grappler Lawson Komp of Scappoose in the first round of their 138-pound match. In the quarterfinals, Scott led Lukas Hernandez, 8-2. But the Philomath wrestler – a 2024 and 2025 state wrestler — earned a reversal and then won by fall in the third period.
Scott stayed alive in the consolation rounds with a major decision over Colston Zimmerman of Pendleton before losing 7-1 to Tillamook’s Richard King, a 2025 state tourney qualifier who placed fifth. Scott finished his The Dalles wrestling career as a two-time state tourney competitor.
Flores won one of three matches at 144 pounds. The Riverhawk junior’s victory came by fall in the consolation round over Marshall Gobet of Molalla. Flores lost in the first round by fall to Sweet Home’s Dillan Davis, who eventually finished second. Ivan Wagner of Newport beat Flores in the second round of consolation. Wagner was a returning state tourney wrestler from 2025 (at 138 pounds), as was Davis, who was first at 132 pounds a season ago.
Linker lost twice at 215 pounds: by a 12-2 major decision to Scappoose’s Malique Gardiner in the first round; and by fall to Philomath’s Derek Kohn in the consolation first round. Kohn would go on to finish third overall and Gardiner placed sixth.
