HOOD RIVER - The Hood River Valley girls lacrosse team backed up its status as one of the top programs in the state with a berth in the May 18 Oregon Girls Lacrosse Association playoff semifinals.
The fifth-seeded Eagles (11-4) were scheduled to play top-ranked Jesuit in the semis at Lakeridge Stadium in Lake Oswego on May 18. The Crusaders have won the past five state championships.
HRV won playoff matches May 12, 16-6, over Central Catholic and May 14, 11-10, over host Oregon Episcopal School. Hood River lost 13-2 to Jesuit on March 31. The two teams play at 8 p.m. on the 18th, following the other state semifinal match pitting Grant and West Linn at 6 p.m.
