The No. 9-ranked The Dalles High Riverhawks girls basketball team split two non-league road games in the Jingle Jam Tournament Dec. 28-29 at Riverdale High School in Portland.

The Dalles High Riverhawks girls soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games after winning two Class 4A Tri-Valley Conference match-ups last week.

The No. 8-ranked Riverhawks (2-0 TVC, 3-0-2 overall), guided by Coach Colby Tonn, won 8-0 over the struggling Crook County High Cowgirls (0-2 TVC, 0-5 overall) Sept. 20 at home in the opening contest of their 10-game league schedule. The Dalles followed with a 3-0 win over the Estacada High Rangers (0-1-1 TVC, 0-4-2 overall) Sept. 22 at Estacada High School.

Defense usually trumps offense early in the season, and the Columbia High volleyball team proved that adage correct Saturday with a four-set nonleague win at Goldendale.

The Hattenhauer Distributing Columbia Gorge Hustlers extended their win streak to 15 after sweeping an American Legion baseball doubleheader, 10-8 and 22-3, over Mountainside on July 5 at Quinton Street Ballpark in The Dalles.

The Hood River Valley boys lacrosse team couldn’t overcome the Lincoln Cardinal offense as they placed second in the 2022 Oregon Cascade Cup.

The Eagles did not qualify for the state playoffs, but a consolation tournament — the Cascade Cup — provides those teams with another opportunity at postseason play. Hood River are pretty regular visitors to the Cascade Cup championship. In the last seven seasons HRV has last played in three finals and won the trophy in 2015 when they took down La Salle 11-10.
