HOOD RIVER ­— On Oct. 20, nurses at the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital voted to approve a new two-year contract. Negotiations between Providence and the Oregon Nurses Association — who represented 150 nurses working at Providence Hood River — lasted seven months before the two sides could find common ground on multiple points of contention.

HOOD RIVER — Nurses who work at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital were joined by members of the Oregon Nursing Association (ONA) during an “informational picket” in front of Providence Hood River on Thursday, Sept. 15. Labor representatives, current and former nurses and residents stood at the intersection of 12th and May Street  with signs in support of ONA members during ongoing union negotiations with Providence.

THE DALLES — Local nurses employed by Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC) in The Dalles, and represented by the Oregon Nurses Association (OMA), reported “encouraging movement from MCMC” following a rally downtown The Dalles Thursday, Aug. 19.

Bargaining between MCMC and the nurses union continued Wednesday, Aug. 25, with both sides reporting progress.
