HOOD RIVER — One practice was canceled Oct. 7 and an investigation began Oct. 10 following a letter of complaint filed with the school district by over two dozen Hood River Valley High School boys soccer team parents Oct. 6.

For the first time since 2019, summer camps are back in Hood River. The Hood River Vally Parks and Recreation Department (HRVPD) has partnered with the Hood River County School District to take over programming responsibilities for summer camp. Summer Camp Coordinator Delaney Karrels is working to create a fun and engaging experience for the youth of Hood River. With six different “themes” across two sections of camps, Karrels and HRVPRD are hoping to bring a sense of diversity to the week long camps.
League champion Hood River Valley High, which dominated the 2021 Intermountain Conference all-league team, had two players selected to the Class 5A all-state team.
The Hood River boys soccer team clinched the Intermountain Conference title Oct. 26 in dominating fashion, with an 8-0 win over Pendleton.
The Eagles took down Pendleton in just one half of play when they scored eight goals in 39 minutes. New rules state that when a team achieves an eight-goal lead the game will be called off.
