I would like to address some important details regarding Google’s financial impact on our community. Contrary to some misconceptions, Google does pay taxes (and fees), both on existing data centers and those currently under construction. These contributions support various essential projects in The Dalles, including the Safe Routes to Schools project, the new Skill Center at Columbia Gorge Community College, critical water infrastructure improvements, and more.
The taxes collected from these facilities are allocated to all taxing districts, including the city, county, schools, fire services, parks and more. These funds are crucial for upgrading and enhancing the infrastructure that supports the well-being of our community, ensuring that The Dalles remains a thriving and resilient place for all residents.

Project 2025
What freedoms and privileges will all Americans lose should “Project 2025” — a deadly hidden mine designed by conspiring evil men to destroy our democratic government — [be enacted] with a dictator on day one?
With Project 2025, we will never again have the right to vote. A dictator will vote for us! Our precious freedoms lost forever, buried in a shallow grave while we were sleeping!
When someone says, “I can’t believe you would vote for Trump.” I respond, “I’m not voting for Trump; I’m voting for policies that align with my concerns and values.”
I support the First Amendment and freedom of speech, the Second Amendment and my right to self-defense, and the appointment of Supreme Court Justices who uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I advocate for economic stability by fostering retirement growth and curbing inflation, and for bringing our troops home, ending unnecessary foreign conflicts — Trump did not start any wars.
I back the Electoral College and the Republic’s structure, as well as the reinstatement of respect and support for the police to maintain law and order. I am frustrated with the revolving door of the criminal justice system. Additionally, I support the appointment of federal judges who respect constitutional principles and the protection of American jobs from being outsourced. I also want to see us regain energy independence and not rely on foreign resources.
I am in favor of secure borders and legal immigration, ensuring we know who is entering our country to prevent crime and drug trafficking. I oppose giving benefits to illegal immigrants over addressing the needs of American citizens and prioritize veterans who have served this country.
I stand for the rights of the unborn and oppose late-term abortions, preferring these decisions to be made at the state level rather than federally. I support progress in the Middle East and the fight against human and child trafficking, as well as freedom of religion and the right to express my opinions without censorship.
Furthermore, I advocate for education focusing on math, history, and science rather than indoctrination, and for not having to shoulder everyone’s college debt. I also believe that girls should not have to compete in sports or share facilities with boys.
Ultimately, I am voting not just for a single individual but for the future of my country and for the freedoms and opportunities for my children and grandchildren.

Farce
If a person could be a farce, then Donald Trump would fit the bill perfectly.
