In my opinion
The Democrat leadership of today, aided and abetted by like-minded Republicans, the DC Politburo (Swamp) and wealthy, globalist oligarchs appear to me to be perfectly attuned to aligning their position, wealth and power with the Marxist — Communist axis of the (Xi Jinping — CCP) Chinese Empire and the (Putin "resurrected USSR") Russian Empire. All they have to do, from where I stand, given a "cycloptic," supportive media, is: Continue to disembowel the Constitution of The United States of America using widely noted and aired practices such as Open Borders + Fentanyl + No Cash Bail + Corrupt Elections and more! Such as: "In-Dungeoning" President Donald J. Trump and the "Jan. 6 Political Prisoners!"
And disarm then deprogram all gun owning citizens (“Deplorables”).Cancel any doubters, then subjugate anyone remaining to the status of Peon/Serf! My observations, my summations, my opinions.

Media should report on Trump
What is the matter with the corporate media? After reading, “Biden’s frustration with the media boils over” (bit.ly/3OWo2LF), I’d say they took a long time to boil! I've been frustrated by the media's misrepresentation of the Biden Administration for nearly three years. With the advent of the 2024 general election and Trump’s dismaying popularity with his grifted, lied-to, and defrauded followers (bit.ly/3IdraPi), I'm more upset than ever with the media.
Ample air and print time is given to Trump, a seditious wannabe dictator, who has been indicted for serious felony crimes (bit.ly/3UwYcS6). But on Trump’s destructive Plan 2025 intentions, corporate media is almost silent. If elected POTUS, Trump’s intention is to implement the Heritage Foundation's Plan 2025 (bit.ly/3SQEnTe) to undermine our democratic republic, disregard the rule of law, bypass or re-construe the U.S. Constitution, gut the EPA, and reject climate science, among many other heretical goals (bit.ly/49srUvY).
An analogy to Plan 2025, in my opinion, is Margaret Atwood’s “A Handmaid’s Tale” (a depiction of a dystopian fascist, theocratic America) mixed with Orwell’s “1984”— in effect Orwellian Christian Nationalism. In reality, it’s anti-Truth, anti-Christian, and anti-American.
What on earth is the matter with these so-called journalists? Why are they effectively silent? Do they not see that history is starting to repeat itself? Except this time, it's not Germany and Hitler; it's the U.S.A. and Trump.
The media has yet to turn on the political tsunami-sirens, but they should be turned-on full volume.
At the same time, corporate media fails to report on Biden's many successes, despite congressional right-wing Republican's constant obstruction. Moreover, the media fails to effectively report the destructive consequences of this long-term obstruction on all of us Americans. But corporate media zealously reports Biden's latest gaffs and pundit’s concerns about his age, while saying nothing about Trump being, in my opinion, a mental cripple and emotionally retarded, if not ill.
The political tsunami-sirens are off, but the corporate media is making a lot of noise about the inconsequential aspects of American politics.
This opinion (bit.ly/4cD5QA2) is reflective of what the media should be publishing/saying about Trump and the Biden Administration.

Don't worry
In response to the comment before The Dalles City Council, as reported in Columbia Gorge News of June 19, “We don’t want to be Hood River": On that point, I would assure the speaker that he has nothing to worry about.

Economic policies
Many hard-working Trump supporters believe the GOP's economic policies are better for them and the country. For most Americans, economics translates to our ability to support ourselves. Since the COVID pandemic, our economic recovery has experienced high inflation rates. Despite Biden's successful policies to slow inflation and invest in infrastructure, supply chain repair, and domestic manufacturing, some Americans wrongly believe that the GOP and Trump’s policies will ease their financial burdens.
A recent analysis by Moody’s Analytics of Trump’s proposed economic policies found that they would trigger a recession by mid-2025, resulting in millions of job losses, rising inflation, and reduced economic growth. The GOP’s economic policies, which include slashing taxes for the wealthy, deporting over 10 million immigrant workers, and increasing tariffs on most imports, would hurt workers, consumers, and companies significantly and add trillions to the national debt. Consider this fact: none of the Fortune 100 CEOs (mostly registered Republicans) has donated to the Trump election campaign.
Even the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, agrees that Trump’s tariffs plan would harm the American economy. Moody's chief economist summarized their analysis with this straightforward statement: Biden’s policies are better for the economy. Sources:

Respect overlook
The Underwood community has one of the most beautiful scenic overlooks in the Gorge. People from all over the world are able to access views of the Hood River Valley, Mt. Hood and the Columbia River. However, there are those who fail to respect the beauty provided by these public overlooks. Currently, our small community must deal with political graffiti and garbage at these sights. Please, don’t deface this area. Pack out your trash and find a better way to express your views. It would be a shame to limit access to these overlooks.

Public Works kudos
I’ve never had to contact Hood River County Public Works until this week when the grass in the ditch by where our driveway meets the road had grown to a height where it was preventing us from seeing cars coming down the road. I called public works to see what they could do. The call was promptly answered and she explained that the crew was in the middle of a road chip-sealing project but she would let the supervisor know. Totally understandable. So I was pleasantly surprised when later the same week the mower was out there and took down the 5 foot knapweed. It’s easy to complain so I wanted to be sure to compliment the staff on their quick response to my concern.

Mental diagnosis
During my professional career at a large university medical center, I was the manager of an inpatient comprehensive medical unit. The patients had dual diagnoses of a medical and a psychiatric problem. It is not appropriate that I make a diagnosis, but the behavior exhibited by the 45th president reminds me of a person with a narcissistic personality disorder. Performance art is his niche, governing is not.

Debate thoughts
After witnessing the debate between Trump and Biden some obvious differences were present. Biden (I admit) was slower in his response, but, that is because he gives thought to what he is going to say. He sighted issues and facts. Trump, on the other hand, opened his mouth to spout off unsubstantiated verbal garbage.
Consider this actual single sentence quote from Donald Trump in Sun City, South Carolina July 21, 2015: “Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist, and engineer. Dr. John Trump at MIT, good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world —it’s true — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start of: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there did this, built a fortune — you know, I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right-who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have to said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, they just killed, they just killed us.”
Personally, I want someone of intelligence in charge of our country.
