Letter to the editor: Chinook story error

The numbers that are in this article are last year’s. You said 750,00 over the dam by Sept. 8. This is incorrect. Actual this year is: 359,000. This is less than half of last year’s. You said the counts by Aug. 29 were 24,000 to 36,000. This is also incorrect. Actual this year the high up to August 29 was 11,000 on that date. You said 68,000 passed on Sept. 9. Today is Sept. 9 and the count is not even out for today until late tonight. Please don’t put false information in the paper. The fishing to date has been very slow this year. It’s crowded enough, even without good fishing, without printing outdated, incorrect information.
