A light plane carrying two Tygh Valley residents crashed Saturday afternoon near the Mt. Fir Lumber mill in Tygh Valley ... The plane tore down the power lines and then crashed into the chip dump across the river from the mill. Wasco County Deputy Howard Davison who was on the scene said that the chip pile probably saved both men from serious injury.
