White Salmon Valley School District (WSVSD) Superintendent Rich Polkinghorn joined Kelly Hume, Trisha Eddy, Jenny Hallead, William Gross, Matthew Changar, and Amy Sacquety in Anaheim for three days at the AVID — or Advancement Via Individual Determination — Summer Institute. 

WHITE SALMON — Superintendent Rich Polkinghorn gave the White Salmon Valley School District (WSVSD) board an update on a recent work trip attended by himself and six staff members at the July 23 meeting.

As previously reported by Columbia Gorge News, AVID — or Advancement Via Individual Determination — is a nationally recognized program that focuses on equipping students with critical thinking, collaboration, organization, and self-advocacy skills. It aims to inspire students to pursue higher education and careers, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.
