Third annual Ezra Blue fun run Aug. 16

HOOD RIVER — The third annual Fun Run for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Mark Hatfield State Park / Mosier Twin Tunnels beginning at 9 a.m. To register, visit www.runreg.com/ezra-blues-flight-for-cancer.

Registration is limited to 100 participants, but you can also register to fundraise only.

Organizers of the event — Ezra Blue’s Flight For Cancer — hopes to raise both awareness and funds, and have already raised more than $15,000 for Vitanza’s Research Lab at Seattle Children’s Hospital. 

Ezra Blue died of brain cancer in 2022; he was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (a malignant tumor of the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance and coordinated movements) when he was 3.

He would have celebrated his eighth birthday on Aug. 19.
