Scot Sullenger has resigned from his position on the Cascade Locks Port Commission, leaving the remaining commissioners to search for his replacement.
Interim General Manager Paul Koch reported that Sullenger — who has served on the commission in the past with his most recent stint beginning in early 2013 — resigned via text message to Commissioner Donna Mohr. Koch said the message was read aloud during the port’s most recent meeting April 3.
Koch said he was unable to recall the exact verbiage of the text message. He stated the message was “very positive,” but offered no explanation as to why Sullenger decided to resign. Koch added that Sullenger had been absent from multiple port meetings as of late.
Sullenger was contacted by the News regarding his resignation, but no response had been received as of press time.
Koch said the remaining four commissioners will begin advertising for the vacancy, conducting interviews, and then hopefully making a final selection in the coming weeks. He added that whoever is appointed will fill out the remainder of Sullenger’s term, which expires June 30, 2015.
