Children are breathing in unhealthy air for longer periods of time as wildfires worsen across the country, according to a new study by researchers at Oregon State University’s College of Health.

The study, published earlier this month in Environmental Research, found that over a 17-year span, the average number of days school children were exposed to unhealthy air increased by nearly eightfold.
