School begins Aug. 26 for Glenwood students

She strongly believes your experiences, ideas, and hopes for our community matter. As a Glenwood resident who has now been serving as principal for the past month, Principal Bev is eager to get to know people, hear their perspectives, and learn more about what makes Glenwood special.

What is working well? What would you like to see improved? How can the school better serve students, families, and the community? These are the conversations Principal Bev hopes to have. Whether you’d like to visit the school, invite Principal Bev to meet with your community group or gather for a conversation in town, she would be happy to connect wherever is most comfortable for you.

Here’s a reminder that the first day of school is coming up very soon. The start date for students kindergarten through 12th grade is Aug. 26. School hours are 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. Preschool starts on Sept. 8 from 8:15 – 10:15 a.m.

Are you a cowgirl ages 14-19, eager to travel and connect, represent the rodeo, travel to events, build lifelong connections, and are passionate about developing your public speaking skills and growing in confidence as a leader?

The Klickitat County Fair is coming up very soon. When you read this, there will be less than a week before the county games begin in the evenings, starting with Western Games on Tuesday, Aug. 11. Please check the county fair website for a listing of events and the dates. Another important reminder is the support for the Market Stock Sale. For those 4-H members selling their market stock entries, the Market Stock Sale fund strives to ensure that every animal has a sale. The club members work hard all year to prepare for this event and for many of them, the money their animals sell for goes into their college funds.

There are only a few days left until the sale takes place. Please contact Kelly or Travis Miller at the fair if you would like to make a donation. If you don’t have their contact information, contact me and I’ll put them in touch with you. Thank you for any help you can give these awesome kids.
