No one wants to hear the words, “You have breast cancer.”
When that diagnosis comes, patients want two things: excellent care and support close to home. At Providence Hood River, they can find both.

Early detection saves lives – Gorge donors fund free mammograms and extensive
training for techs
Early detection remains one of the most effective tools in the fight against breast cancer.
Thanks to generous donors, the Providence Hood River Foundation funded a 3-D mammography system, bringing advanced breast imaging technology to the community.
The Foundation continues to support access to screening and encourages anyone who may be delaying a mammogram because of cost to talk with their healthcare provider about available resources. Free mammograms are available for qualifying patients.
Donors have also invested in expertise. The Foundation funded an intensive, multi-day positioning course for Providence Hood River’s mammography technologists. This advanced training helps ensure the highest-quality images possible, giving radiologists the information they need and helping patients receive exceptional care from highly trained local experts.
