THE GORGE — One Community Health (OCH) is hosting a series of free community events this fall to help people navigate their health insurance coverage options for 2027. The events coincide with the open enrollment period for Medicare and Marketplace plans.
One Community Health insurance assisters will provide free, one-on-one help alongside partners from Saldivar Insurance. The events will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions and get help understanding their coverage options.
Attendees can receive support with:
• Medicaid enrollment and renewals through the Oregon Health Plan and Washington Apple Health
• Upcoming changes to the Oregon Health Plan and Apple Health related to the federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including changes to eligibility, work requirements, and renewal periods
• Marketplace insurance coverage options
• Medicare coverage options, including Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and savings programs
“Our goal is to make health coverage easier to understand and help people feel confident about their options for the coming year,” said Flavia Finn, insurance assister at One Community Health. “You don’t have to figure it out alone. We’re here to answer questions, explain the options, and provide free one-on-one help to anyone in the community.”
Each Health Insurance Help Day will offer a welcoming space with free coffee, pastries, and one-on-one assistance from trained, certified assisters. Events are open to everyone; you do not need to be a One Community Health patient to attend. No appointment is necessary, and assisters speak English and Spanish.
