Hood River police, July 20-26

Notable incidents
Officers stopped a vehicle on N. Second and Riverside July 20, cited one occupant for possession of meth, and towed the vehicle.
Two reports of fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft at Rosauer’s July 20. One report of message fraud at US Bank.
A houseless person was arrested and lodged on a warrant, resisting arrest, and false information to a police officer at the Marina July 20.
5 theft reports. Miniature wine barrel from local bar, theft from Walmart, theft from First Interstate bank, bike, windsurfing board. The suspect in the bicycle theft was later arrested on charges of theft and a probation detainer.
An electric motorcycle eluded officers and “rode recklessly” at N. Second and Riverside.
Officers did a traffic stop which ended in citing two minors for possession of intoxicants; one was cited and released for DUII and false information.
July 24, a person arrested and lodged on charge of unlawful entry into a vehicle at the Marina.
A two-vehicle crash at Walgreens resulted in injury July 25.
A male was trespassed and cited for public urination after refusing to leave Safeway property on July 26.

Oregon State Police, July 25 - 30
These charges resulted in arrests: driving suspended (3), DUII (4), false info (2), reckless driving (1), warrant (1).
Notable incidents
2 injury crashes. A driver was rear-ended near milepost 86 westbound, suffering minor injuries. A vehicle tried to cross US 197 at Fremont Street and got hit; one driver got minor injuries.
A Fish and Wildlife trooper caught an angler with a hatchery steelhead. The angler had used a barbed hook, and failed to validate a harvest card at once. They’d also given away another steelhead earlier that day, earning three citations. The steelhead was donated.
Two different drivers, stopped by OSP, gave false names or birth dates and got charged with false information but no other crimes.
2 non-injury crashes. A Cayuse resident fell asleep and crashed into an embankment on 206. A driver accidentally hit the gas in Biggs and smacked a fence, which hurt the car a lot more than it hurt the fence.
Troopers stopped a Chevy on I-84 for traffic violation. The driver refused to give a name, believing they didn’t need insurance when not driving commercially. They were detained in handcuffs and “eventually” admitted their identity, receiving “several” violation citations.
Two DUII arrests. Both were pulled over, investigated, and confirmed with breath tests. One had a blood alcohol level of 0.12%.
A driver stopped near milepost 11 on Highway 197 because of a flat tire on July 19. The vehicle had disappeared by July 29, when they reported it stolen.
