This week volunteers at Adopt A Dog have selected Susie as the program’s adoptable pet of the week. Sweet, sweet Susie is about 8 years old, 60 pounds and showed up as a stray with a horrible skin infection, likely from years of untreated flea infestation. But we got her on antibiotics, and she got medicated baths twice a week — which she thoroughly enjoyed, but the way — and now she’s so much happier and feeling better!
Susie is calm, gentle, and delightful. She’s been in a foster home for some time, and is just now beginning to show her playful side and likes to romp and follow the other dogs in the home. She likes walks, and cuddles, is fine on her own, takes treats like a lady, and is great on car rides. She’d make a great work buddy!
Susie is house trained, knows how to use a doggie door, is current on shots, microchipped and spayed. The adoption fee for Susie is $150. The fee to adopt is charged to recoup standard veterinary expenses. Since many of our dogs are in foster, please call ahead to meet Susie in Odell at the Hukari Animal Shelter, 3910 Heron Drive, or call for more information at 541-354-1083.
Adoption hours are Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, 9-11 a.m. You can fill out an application online at our website, hoodriveradoptadog.org, or download and scan and email to us at adoptadog@gorge.net, or fax it in to 1-877-833-7166.
