Fast food stopped being the cheap, no-brainer stop it used to be, and McDonald’s has spent two years scrambling to win back that reputation, one value platform at a time. Four more chains are now running their own versions of the same play, some rewriting whole menus and some picking just one item to discount. Nobody’s calling it a retreat; they’re calling it a deal.
