While gorgeous mountain views, wild rivers, historical significance and much more all play a role in any conversation regarding tourism in the Columbia River Gorge, there is a new reason some tourists are visiting the area, particularly Washington state.

At the Columbia River Gorge Tourism Summit last week, an hour was dedicated specifically to recreational marijuana tourism, which was opened up by the passage of Initiative 502 in 2012, making it legal for adults to possess up to an ounce of marijuana in Washington.
