A 21-year-old La Grande man was booked in Northern Oregon Regional Corrections Facility on a weapons charge after a traffic stop in which he denied an officer access to his vehicle and locked his keys inside it.

Sjon Austin Clemons was stopped for a lighting violation by Oregon State Trooper Jacob Ferrer at 9:50 p.m. May 18 two miles east of Mosier. Ferrer reported that the driver had a misdemeanor suspended license and admitted to having a concealed handgun underneath the driver’s seat of his Ford XP.
