After studying trains all week, the Bright Beginnings kindergartners took a field trip to learn about the history of the Mount Hood Railroad. They saw vintage locomotives and train cars and then walked down to see the locomotive up close with Lorin Cutts, an engineer who has been with the Mount Hood Rail Road for seven years. “They were able to climb up into the locomotive to sit in the engineer seat as well as get a tour of all our different vintage train cars,” said Cara Fisher, hospitality director of the Fruit Company. Because this trip happened in late January, Polar Express decorations were still around, which prompted a lot of “really great questions,” said Fisher.
