Congratulations are in order to The Munson team (Dane Backman, Tommy Hood and Jay Slack), who won the Thursday afternoon County bowling league at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes last week.
The Munsons prevailed in a three-game roll-off pitting them against the first-half winners, The Incredibowls. The Munsons knocked down 1,896 pins, beating The Incredibowls, who upended 1,807 pins. That 89 pin margin in a three game team match involving six bowlers shows this was a pretty close battle.
As for the individual high scores in the County league for the 2023-24 bowling season, it’s once again the Rod Pratt and Melissa Werkheiser show: High averages, men, Rod Pratt 193; women, Melissa Werkheiser 172; high three game series, men, Rod Pratt 698; women, Melissa Werkheiser, 626; high single games, women, Melissa Werkheiser, 270; men, Rod Pratt 266.
We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for bowling in the County league. It’s an exciting league! We miss you already and hope you will return to bowl in this fun league next season. In the meantime, don’t become strangers, drop on in to say hi, bowl a few games to stay sharp over the summer break and try the special challenge events that will be held this summer at the lanes.
Our challenge events will give you a different look on the lanes with some easy and difficult oil patterns that will test your bowling skills. Can you cut the mustard on something besides the easy house shot that you bowled on every Thursday?
