The annual Hood River Lions Club parade begins at 10 a.m. and lasts approximately two hours, starting at Pacific Avenue and 12th Street and ending at May and 17th streets. Those wishing to join the parade may do so online or in person; cost is $10 for each individual or motor vehicle, and $15 for each group. Check in at 9 a.m. on Eliot Drive. The Spit will be closed July 4, and until noon on July 5; the Sandbar will close at 7 p.m. on July 4. The sandy area of Marina Beach will also be closed at 7 p.m. on July 4.
The Dalles
The Rocket Run — 1 mile, 3K or 5K — begins at 7 a.m. (registration begins at 6:30 a.m.) at Bargeway Pub, 1535 Bargeway Road. Proceeds benefit The Dalles High School cross country team.
The Kids Fair runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Dalles City Park — fun, games and hands-on activities for all ages sponsored by Casa El Mirador. A free community breakfast at the park also begins at 8 a.m. while supplies last. Gorge Winds Concert Band performs at 11 a.m.
Gates open at 8:30 a.m. for the block party at Second and Monroe streets; a cornhole tournament begins at 11 a.m. and there will be live music, food and games all day.
The annual parade kicks off at Sixth and Webber streets and travels through downtown beginning at 10 a.m., hosted by The Dalles Chamber of Commerce. The parade route ends at E. Third and Union streets. Preregistration is required; visit www.fireworksinthedalles.com.
The fireworks show begins at 10 p.m. Popular viewpoints include Memorial Viewpoint and Sorosis Park, Lewis & Clark Festival Park, and Riverfront Park. The chamber has partnered with Western Fireworks Display and Bernert Barge Lines since 2014.
Bingen-White Salmon
The annual parade begins at 11 a.m.; lineup begins at 10 a.m. at Spokes Bike Park, and preregistration is appreciated but not mandatory; call 509-493-3630 for more information or visit www.wscommunitypartners.org by July 2.
