A hand crew traverses a steep, already-established control line. As of press deadline on Monday, the Grasshopper Fire was 93,744 acres in size and containment, which has steadily risen since Aug. 14, was at 76%. Crews successfully navigated a Red Flag warning early last week, and the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office decreased evacuation orders for areas outside of the fire’s burn scar on Saturday. The Oregon state Fire Marshal demobilized that day, but 1,116 personnel remained on scene Monday morning.
