HOOD RIVER — After the first community clean up hosted by the City of Hood River was deemed a success, they have decided to host a second event this year, called “Clean up Cascade.” The goal is to make the city a more beautiful, welcoming place and prevent trash buildup or water contamination.

Mayor Paul Blackburn, city councilors, and other city staff will be participating in the litter cleanup on Saturday, May 18. Led by Community Engagement Coordinator Jackie Vanderpuye, volunteers will meet on the west side of Hood River at 3100B Cascade Ave., in the parking lot at Gorge Technology.
