A vehicle left SR 141 Alternative and plunged into the Big White Salmon River April 12, officials said.

SKAMANIA CO. — A vehicle went over a steep cliff and fell into the Big White Salmon River on April 12, according to Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.

Two people were treated on-scene for minor injuries after the vehicle fell from the cliff near State Route 141 Alternate, ending up submerged in the river. Washington State Patrol and first responders were dispatched to the single-vehicle collision.

Five divers were able to rig the car with lines and straps so a towing company could recover it.

The vehicle plunged down a steep cliff alongside the highway, and had to be drawn back up.
