Big River CLT to start first home

HOOD RIVER — Big River Community Land Trust (CLT) will start building its first home this fall in Hood River County, just south of Windmaster Corner. Once completed, the home will be sold to a local buyer for less than $360,000, roughly half the current median home price in Hood River.

A buyer will be selected from Big River’s buyer list using a weighted lottery system. The small lot, gifted to the organization by the City of Hood River, will soon have a two-story, three-bedroom, two and a half-bathroom, 1,300 square foot home.
