GLENWOOD — Earlier this fall, Mt. Adams Resource Stewards (MARS) purchased 800 acres of former industrial timberlands, representing the single largest addition thus far to the growing Mt. Adams Community Forest.

The Glenwood-based nonprofit organization worked with Weyerhaeuser to find an outcome “that would honor the property’s legacy as resource lands managed for sustainable forestry,” said MARS Executive Director Jay McLaughlin.
