The porch

The property is a vacant lot. More precisely, a structure-less space left over from a tear-down in mid-2013.

The lot is on Ninth, a block north of May Street, by the way. (“Close to schools and shopping” — aka nice neighborhood.)

Call if you want, or walk by and take a look. You don’t need an appointment to see a bare patch of ground.

(Which would be a great line in a John Mellencamp song.)

WELL DONE: One local couple’s “New York Time Zone” New Year’s Eve Party 6-9 p.m. PST) must have been a wild one.

People left all kinds of plates, spoons and bread baskets.

The hosts took the novel approach of sending out an email “lost and found” photo album of each item left at the party, with the message, “Please look over the photos below — one of these items was NOT left over. If you recognize an item — please claim it by calling ...”

“It was great having you here and look forward to next NYE,” they wrote. “For those who did not attend — mark your calendar now! Some brave souls even suggested moving on to Chicago time (well, we’ll see about that).”

Among the items in the photos were a Christmas Trivia game, hot alcoholic mixed drinks list, and a knife.
