Emelie Pennington-Davis, 15, left, and Anson Campbell, above right, are the youth element of CAST’s production of “Miracle on 34th Street,” the classic tale of faith in Santa Claus, told in radio theater style and directed by Gary Young. With Anson is Tom Burns, in the role of Kris Kringle. The show opens Dec. 5 at Columbia Center for the Arts (see Entertainment Update for details). Emelie has several speaking roles, including Susan, the practical young girl who becomes friends with Kris and learns to believe. Anson’s mother, Kristin, and Emelie’s mother, Debra, are also in the cast. Emelie and Debra also harmonize as members of the acapella quartet The Columbiaires, who will give a mini-performance at the start of the program, and do several other songs throughout the play.
