‘Music at the Dawn’ brings early 1900s to life

Former Mayor Babitz, Ronnie Ontiveros and Ben Bonham were on hand to play and talk about early music styles, and the inner workings of a spring-powered cylinder machine patented by Thomas Edison.

Wednesday brought a listening event unlike any other to Hood River.

Eighty people turned off their cellphones, forgot about the NBA playoffs on TV, and gathered around phonographs at The History Museum of Hood River County.
