Industrial (Monday, 7 p.m.): Rod Pratt: 249, 243, 705; Patrick Olson: 268, 668; Randy Nieto: 237, 236, 662; Nancy Asai: 217, 211, 618; John Riggleman: 245; Kevin Harris: 236

The Rollers (Jesse Orr, Paul Dethman, and Kevin Harris) are now in first place with 59 points; Randy’s Painting is in second with 55 points; and Team 2 is in third with 50.5.

Last week MTS waxed Mt. Hood BBQ 23-2 as Tyson Byers put it all together. The 168 average kegler stroked a 607 series for MTS, which was 107 pins over his average. Opponent John Riggleman fired a big 245 game for the BBQ boys in a losing cause; Orchard Lanes all-star Nancy Asai’s machine-like down and in slants were on the money like old times as she tossed a nifty 618 set, while teammate Carl Casey contributed a 602 series that flattened Hood River Supply 19-6.

Randy’s Painting sponsor Randy Nieto scattered the sticks to the tune of a cool 662 set to beat Pat’s Pro Shop 17-8. Randy and the Pro Shop’s Pat Olson had quite a battle, as Pat just nudged Randy with a 668 series; The Rollers Kevin Harris logged a big 236 game and solid 620 set as they tromped OL’7-10 17-8; and Clear Cutters’ main man Rod Pratt continued his hot assault on the pins with a super 705 series (Team of the week) that helped smash 3 Fingers Deep 17-8. Rod was 120 pins over his average.

Tuesday Nite Mixed (Tuesday,  7 p.m.): Patrick Olson: 249, 235, 705; Nancy Asai: 232, 224, 221, 677; Joey Sheirbon: 235        

Last week Mad Skilz won the first half with 27 wins. There’s a three-way tie for second with Team Nishi, Double A Orchards and Hood River Supply. Second is important because in the Mixed, the top two teams in each half qualify for the league championship roll off at the end of the season. Three teams will now need a total pin roll off match to determine who finishes second in the first half.

Last week’s action saw Double A Orchards sneak into that three-way tie for second in the first half by drubbing Take Ten 4-0. Nancy Asai and Spencer Hansen played key roles in their big win. Nancy fired a splendid 677 series for Double A, her high series of the season so far, which was 116 over her average, plus teammate Spencer Hansen rolled 207 and 201 games and was 113 sticks over his average.

Mad Skilz edged Team Nishi 3-1, even though Stu Kawachi tossed a 622 set and teammate Joey Sheirbon had a 619 series for Nishi; Gutter Dawgs slapped CPR 3-1; Are You Splitting Me was paced by Albert Frelix, who racked up a nice 229 game and ended up 126 pins over his average as they topped Team Kawachi 3-1; Split Faced and Taco Tuesday split 2-2, as did Hood River Supply and Who Gives a Split. Patrick Olson notched a 705 set for the Splitters, which is just a few sticks better than his 230 average in this league.

Senior Colts and Fillies (Wednesday, 1:30 p.m.):

Lynn Spellman: 239, 224, 652; Dick Sherrell: 210

With just two weeks to go in the first half of the league, Two Pair (Linda Green, Jim Green, Michael Ross, and Vicki Ross) nosed into first place with 33 wins; Skamaniacs are in second with 32 wins; Awesome 3 are in third with 31 wins; Gutter Gals are in fourth with 30.5 wins; and Rolling Pins are in fifth with 30 wins. Could it get any closer? A tie for first with multiple teams would probably please the seniors, as they claim to be non-competitive and simply enjoy their weekly league outing with good friends.

In last week’s matches, sweeps were prevalent. Rice Krispies’ Lynn Spellman popped a mighty fine 652 series with 239 and 224 games for the snap, crackle, and poppers to blank Jesse’s Team 4-0. Dick Sherrell shot a 210 game for Jesse’s, but as usual Lynn put a spell on the sticks that was just too much; and Skamaniacs thrashed We Tried 4-0. 3-1 wins were achieved by Awesome 3 over 2 Pair and Gutter Gals against Cousins.

Orchard Lanes (Jeff Brittle, Mike Parke, and Patrick Olson) moved into first place last week with 54.5 points due to their 18-7 win over Bloom Auto Body. Olson sparked his team with a huge 763 three game series (Team of the week). Patrick, who bowled 115 pins over his 216 average on this night, said he relishes bowling against his weekly pizza buddies, Jeremy Bloom and Bryan Mason, longtime stalwarts for the powerhouse Bloom Auto Body team. Bryan Mason did all he could to curtail the hot-shot Orchard Lanes trio as he blasted a mighty fine 674 set (Team of the week) in their match, but fell short of Patrick’s pin-busting exploits.

Bloom Auto Body fell to second place with 52.5 points.

In other action, the biggest move was by Hood River Athletic Club, who crushed Tres Piscos 23-2. Josh Worth led the Clubbers with a solid 659 series, teammate Ken Kramer rolled a 208 game and all-star Bernie Keys notched 212 and 202 games. Bernie remarked thatit was the first time this season that she won all three games from her opponent.

Get Hu-sum BBQ’s tough anchorman Stan Pratnicki came back after a short absence with a 692 series (Team of the week) that boosted the barbequers from across the river to an 18-7 win over The Red Rockets. Electronics Assemblers prevailed over Mt. Hood BBQ 17.5-7.5 in one of those closer-than-it looked matches because John Riggleman tossed a 643 set that was highlighted by a 244 game for the BBQ boys, but wasn’t quite enough as they only lost total pins by 23 sticks; and Ten in the Pit beat the MD’s 17-8.

Country (Thursday, 5 p.m.): Rod Pratt: 236; Victor Flores: 219; Jay Slack: 214; Melissa Werkheiser: 201    

The Incredibowls (Rod Pratt, Yoyo Cervantes, and Matt Stoneberg) maintained their hold on first place with 23 wins. Over the Line is in second with 20 wins and The Munsons are in third with 19 wins. In last week’s matches, thanks to Rod Pratt’s big 236 game, his Incredibowls thumped the Holy Rollers 3-1; Justin Holtman beat his average by 100 pins to lead his Over the Line crew to a 3-1 win over the BSers, despite the efforts of BSers Victor Flores, who tossed a nice 219 game; Save the Pins pounded The Unbowlievables 3-1; and the rest of the matches were all 2-2 splits between Lady Ballers vs The Munsons, Split Happens against The BowLeeAnders and Gutter Girls vs Pins in Low Places, even though all-star Melissa Werkheiser rolled a fine 201 game for her Low Pins squad.
