Reserve Champion Karyna Marquez anticipates the final bid call for her Market Beef entry during the July 26 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction. Marquez also won the Grand Champion for Swine.Â
The pirate’s Parrot Show, aka Chris Bristo and friends, held multiple times per day throughout the fair, gave viewers a fun and educational look at a variety of colorful parrots.
Patrons of the Hood River County Fair were able to get up close and personal with stingrays in a specially-built pool, a new feature at this year’s four-day event. The exhibit, located near the Floral Building, allowed for touching and feeding of the fish.

Taking in everything from cavies to carnival rides, Hood River News photographers Emily Fitzgerald, Kirby Neumann-Rea, Noah Noteboom and Trisha Walker visited the fair throughout the 2019 run and found these faces and festivities on the midway, in the livestock barns, Summit Building and the rest of the fairgrounds. Look for additional photos and coverage on pages B5 and B10, and our annual publication of fair results starting Aug. 3.
