THE GORGE — Lyle/Wishram has rebounded from its season opening loss to Dufur, as attested by its two wins since that defeat back on Aug. 29.
Coach Dave Devoe’s team beat Prospect Charter, 58-6, on Sept. 5 in the Dufur Classic, and then took care of a much more formidable opponent Sept. 12, when the Cougars won, 42-32, at North Douglas (1-1). North Douglas was 11-1 in 2024, when its lone loss was in the state championship game.
Dufur tops Crosshill Christian
Dufur improved to 3-0 this season with a 20-12 nonleague win over Crosspoint Christian (0-2) on Sept. 12 at Summit High School in Bend.
Class 1A, six-man football
Sherman County (2-1) shut out Ione/Arlington, 19-0, Sept. 12 at Arlington High School. The Huskies were scheduled to host winless Huntington at 7 p.m. Sept. 19.
South Wasco County (1-2) lost its second game in a row, 64-28, at Mitchell High School on Sept. 12. The 2-0 Rattlers are ranked No. 8 in Class 1A, six-man football. South Wasco plays at 2-1 Dayville/Monument/Long Creek on Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
