Columbia Gorge News / file photoWHITE SALMON — Junior Lilah Zimmerman paced the Columbia High girls cross country team during its second-place finish Sept. 9 at a Trico meet at La Center.
Zimmerman finished second in the girls 5,000-meter race in 22 minutes, 1 second as the Bruins scored 43 team points. La Center, led by individual winner Sasha Pash, won with 22 points.
Also accounting for Columbia’s five-person team score were Kathryn O’Connor, fifth, 24:16; Maisy Kollman, 11th, 25:57; Maya Tama, 15th, 26:16; and Eda O’Connor, 16th, 26:19.
The Columbia boys scored 58 points to finish third and were led by junior Luther Thomas, who was fifth in 19:47. Colby Clark was eighth in 20:07; Everett Coyner was 11th in 20:38; Thatcher Wallace was 16th in 21:45; and Ethan Hayes was 18th in 21:54. La Center (24 points) and Seton Catholic (49) finished 1-2 in the boys team competition.
