Dress dedicated to brother

Faith Ocheskey, 13, models the dress she made using her brother Stanley’s Hood River Valley High School cap and gown at Wednesday’s 4-H Style Review at the Hood River County Fair. Faith made the dress with her mother, Emily, as a tribute to her brother, who graduated from HRVHS in June and is now stationed at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. Her gown features lightning bolts — “My brother and I like watching lightning storms,” she explained — something that happens a lot in Colorado. She made his cap into a kite and accessorized the ensemble with a key necklace. Faith will begin eighth grade at Wy’east Middle School this fall.
