The Dalles, Oregon – With winter approaching, Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC) and community partners are working together to ensure our most vulnerable community members can access shelters, emergency supplies, and additional resources during winter severe weather events.
Hood River Warming Shelter – Hood River
Mid-Columbia Community Action Council opened the 24-bed Hood River Warming Shelter at 1733 Oak St. in Hood River on Monday, Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. The Hood River Shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is open throughout the winter season until March 2026.
Warming Shelter placements are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there is not a waitlist. Shelter guest intakes take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays throughout the season, as bed availability allows. Wraparound services for each client are engaged after initial intake paperwork is completed. For more information about available shelter beds or other emergency resources available during severe winter weather events, visit MCCAC’s Hood River Shelter page here and Severe Weather Resources page here.
