THE DALLES — On Sept. 14 from noon to 4 p.m., join the Wasco County Democrats and Friends to celebrate the grand opening of the new office location in the Gayer building at 300 Washington St.
This election year is the most consequential our country has faced in recent history. Kamala Harris will lead us to a new era of coalition building, creative solutions, and will face head on the work of government. This will involve the cooperation of a functional Republican party that puts forward candidates who will also do the work of governing, along with members of other parties and those citizens who do not have a party affiliation.
To that end, we would like to invite our friends in the community, regardless of party affiliation, to join us at our new office and see how we can find common ground and work together to continue the good work of building our nation.
“I was glad to see the former Gayer jewelry store is being transformed into the new Wasco County Democratic office by local volunteers. As a registered Republican, my Party has lost its way — wanting a dictator to vote for us — instead of “we” the people voting for what we need," said Joe Stewart, registered Republican, The Dalles. "We need to join together, Democrats, Republicans and independents, and put our country and constitution ahead of party. We need to stop listening to Donald Trump's lies and his parrot (Fox News) who repeat those same lies. Please wake-up! This is the most important presidential election ever, for each of us and our children and grandchildren. As such, I invite my fellow Republicans to vote for Kamala Harris as our next president.”
