THE DALLES — Northern Wasco County PUD (NWCPUD) has announced the launch of its 2025 Board of Directors' Scholarship Program, offering three $10,000 scholarships to support local students pursuing careers in the utility industry. The program, which features a new streamlined online application process, will distribute the funds over two years to help students achieve their educational goals.
"The utility industry offers an incredibly diverse range of career paths, from engineering and renewable energy to finance, communications, and skilled trades like line work," said Roger Kline, General Manager and CEO of NWCPUD. "These scholarships represent our commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening our community's future."
Eligible applicants must:
• Reside within the NWCPUD service territory
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
• Graduate high school, finish homeschool, or receive their GED in the current school year
• Plan to pursue a career that could benefit the utility industry
The scholarship program supports students entering various educational paths, including:
• Community colleges
• Universities
• Line worker colleges
• Other vocational training programs
