Waucoma Bookstore will have copies of Garvin’s book for purchase, and all are invited to attend.

Garvin’s debut novel, “The Music of Bees,” was released in 2021 and “swept readers away to Oregon’s Hood River Valley and offered a much-needed escape after a year of isolation,” said a press release. It became a national bestseller. “Crow Talk” was released last spring.

About the book
“Crow Talk” centers on two women and a lonely little boy, who have all retreated to a remote alpine lake in the woods of Washington State, seeking solace. First, there’s Frankie O’Neill, a promising young ornithologist (an expert on birds), who is still reeling from a rift with her mentor. Just down the bay is Anne Ryan, a talented Irish musician who is grappling with the sudden muteness of her only child and the conflict it has brought to her marriage. And finally, there’s Anne’s son, Aiden, a curious 5-year-old who’s retreated into silence for reasons only he understands. A chance encounter with an injured baby crow brings this trio together and an unlikely friendship blooms, allowing all three to forge a path towards healing, rediscovery, and joy.
