Blessing of the Animals

Bethel UCC in White Salmon invites the community to a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. This will be an outdoor service led by Pastor Laura Robinson, pictured at right with two friends. Four-footed friends must be on leash and feathered or finned friends contained. The Bethel parking lot is accessed off of N.E. Pioneer Place, behind Harvest Market. Service is in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. He saw animals and birds as his brothers and sisters, Robinson noted. He encouraged the care of all creation. Masks required and physical distancing will be in place. Snacks provided for all animals; people encouraged to bring their own.
