Upcoming concert features Christian rap, punk and rock

Also playing are Living Under the Influence, Appointed to Paradise and One Shot.

Admission to the Jan. 4 concert is $3 per person. A portion of the ticket sales will go toward the Columbia Gorge Pregnancy Resource Center.

The youth concert is presented by Sleeping Giant Ministries, a youth ministry recently started by David Unglert of The Dalles. Unglert is a youth worker at Harvest Foursquare Church.

"My mission is the youth of the Gorge," Unglert explained. "There's not a lot for them to do. I'm bringing positive Christian music in that doesn't have drugs, alcohol or sex."

Statistics show high rates of drug use, theft and smoking among the youth of the Columbia Gorge, Unglert notes. He is trying to provide positive alternatives to those risky behaviors.
