Speech duo headed to Nationals

Two Hood River Valley High School juniors will compete at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Birmingham, Ala., in June.

Ruby Patterson qualified to compete in Original Oratory and Mason Leavitt won a spot on a Worlds Debate team representing the South Oregon Speech District. Hood River sent nine competitors to the district qualifying tournament held at the University of Oregon on March 17-18.
