Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate Team hosted the District 9 State Qualifier Tournament on April 7. Students from HRVHS competed with students from Pine Eagle High School and Pendleton High School.

The Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team won first place in Team Sweepstakes at the Robert D. Clark Tournament held at the University of Oregon Feb. 17-18. The team took 27 students, who entered 52 events.

Hood River Valley High School Speech Team members traveled to Linfield College in McMinnville last weekend for the Singletary Invitational Tournament.

The Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team took advanced students to two tournaments in October, said HRVHS Speech and Debate Coach DeLona Campos-Davis.

Ruby Patterson won second place in Original Oratory at the OSAA State Speech competition on April 22.

Junior Ruby Patterson made it to the final round of Open Prose and won second place in Open Oratory as Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team competed in the Robert D. Clark Invitational tournament at the University of Oregon Feb. 18-19.

Ten Hood River Valley High School students competed in the Feb. 11 Saints Invitational Forensics Tournament held at Mt Hood Community College.

The Hood River Valley Speech and Debate team hosted the District 9 tournament on Saturday April 2.
