A variety of PEZ dispensers and paraphernalia will be on display at the White Salmon Valley Community Library during the month of June.
Collector Heidi Henning will display a small portion of her extensive collection, which she estimates to be approximately 1,000 PEZ items to date.
Henning started collecting PEZ dispensers in 1992 when her brother gave her a used jewelry box found at a garage sale for her birthday. Little did either of them know that tucked inside this jewelry box was a small plastic treasure -- a 1950s Santa PEZ dispenser, now valued at over $100. She soon added a few common variety dispensers to the Santa, and her collection slowly started to grow. By the end of that year, Henning's collection had grown to over 100 dispensers.
That small collection has now grown 10-fold. She has since branched out to including PEZ watches, T-shirts, stuffed toys, puzzles, cars, and much more. Her most prized procession is a 1960s PEZ Candy Shooter that was willed to her by a fellow collector.
Henning's collection has been displayed at various schools and libraries and has been featured in "PEZ Collector's News."
